FDM — Biodegradable PHA

Our biodegradable materials are fully compostable while still being safe to use in a dishwasher as well as being approved by the FDA for food contacts. While the base material provides mechanical properties that are less than perfect, having a plastic that is fully compostable without generating the otherwise dreaded micro-plastic pollutants has several upsides. For example, biodegradable plastics makes it possible to produce sensor equipment where there is a large risk that pieces of the sensor will end up in the environment after its intended life-span.
