Material

FDM — 316 Stainless Steel

By using a filament containing 80% metal particles bonded by a polymer base, we are able to produce items using FDM technology in solid metal – in this case stainless steel.

In its finished form, the item will have properties that are similar to those of an object machined from stainless steel.

Pros

  • Solid metal at a competitive price-point
  • Possibility to create solid metal objects otherwise impossible to make
  • Can be processed like normal 316 Stainless Steel with regards to milling and surface treatments.

Cons

  • Slightly lower dimensional tolerances
  • Might require additional post-processing steps (machining, drilling, tapping, etc)
